Jere Baxter Middle School is nestled into a hillside surrounded by trees in northeast Nashville, Tennessee. The school is named for Jere Baxter, founder of the Tennessee Central Railroad. Mr. Baxter stated his philosophy in this manner: “That I love my country, the marks I have left upon it shall be my best testimony.”

Similarly, Jere Baxter Middle School's faculty and staff are dedicated to leaving a legacy of learning in the students they serve.
